Magic Knight was a character you played in a set of 4 games published by Mastertronic. The latter 3 games especially are excellent and all were converted across to a number of machines. 'Spellbound' was the game that really broke the mould and I think this was the first 'true graphical adventure' to be released and prompted a load of clones. Spellbound is one of my favourite games, it's 14 years old and I still play it from time to time, whilst Tomb Raider kept my attention for less than 14 minutes... All of these games come highly recommended!
Commodore 64
ZX Spectrum
The 128k versions all had sound, improved graphics and just to make things a bit more tricky, the 48k solutions are unlikely to work on the 128k versions!
Amstrad CPC
Commodore 16/Plus 4
Atari 800
Despite the absence of music, this is without doubt the best version of Spellbound and is how game conversions could be done...
By the way - this piece of music, 'Spellbound'.... is there a better 8 bit tune ??
